We can’t wait to welcome you to Gainesville, GA this fall for our wedding!

How we Met

We both set out for adventure when we accepted new jobs starting in late 2021. Sean packed his bags for Vienna, Austria and Morgan moved to Frankfurt, Germany. Despite heading to different cities, our paths crossed when Morgan took the first of many work trips to Vienna the following February. Sean was handsome, genuine, and adventurous and Morgan was beautiful, exciting, and spontaneous. After spending a few days showing her around the city, Sean invited Morgan on a ski trip with a group of friends. In the Austrian Alps, Sean shared his love for snow-capped mountain peaks and fresh tracks with Morgan, who was perhaps overeager to learn a new sport and try to keep up with him on the slopes. When she ended up in the hospital to repair a torn ACL after a crash, Sean stayed by her side, and offered heaps of encouragement and support through a challenging rehab. But injury didn’t sideline their expeditions. They set off across Europe nearly every weekend, learning more about each other and falling in love while climbing mountains, sailing oceans, and hopping trains.

How He Asked

While browsing at an artisan market (Fesch’markt!) in Vienna, we found a locally produced date-night-in-a-box activity. The box featured a map with waypoints around the city that corresponded to an envelope containing fun surprises to build connections with your partner. Excited to brighten a cold winter day, we set out for the first few stops in February 2023. But the winter sun was quick to fade in the early afternoon and we hung up our compass for another day. Our “love walk” was indefinitely postponed until July 2024 when Sean suggested we dust it off to complete it before bidding adieu to The City of Music. We spent the afternoon touring through the heart of our home city while reminiscing and opening envelopes, telling stories, sharing jokes, and even making our own graffiti with chalk. The map’s final stop was in Vienna’s Stadtpark, an oasis of greenspace in the city where we’d shared a particularly special date two years before. The final card challenged us to dance the Viennese waltz in front of a statue of Johann Strauss. After laughing and twirling our way through a very crowded park on a balmy evening, Sean dropped to one knee and asked, “Will you marry me, Morgan?”

What We Value

We love adventure, travel, and experiencing the endless beauty found in nature, but no destination could eclipse the joy of spending time with our family and closest friends. As our “village”, we hope you’ll join us not only to witness our commitment to one another and celebrate our marriage, but to support and guide us through life’s biggest moments.

Fall at the Lake

Gainesville sits on the banks of Lake Lanier and is the gateway to the Blue Ridge mountains. Just 90 minutes from Atlanta International Airport and boasting local breweries, nearby trails, and a branch of the Atlanta Botanical Garden, there’s something for everyone in Gainesville. Take advantage of the holiday weekend to explore the German-inspired town of Helen, ride a tube down the Chattahoochee River, walk in the footsteps of Band of Brothers’ Easy Company at Currahee and Camp Toccoa, or visit a local vineyard!
